Signs of Life and Humanity in the Lodz Ghetto

Signs of Life and Humanity in the Lodz Ghetto

In commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day, join us on Sunday, January 26, at 1:00 PM ET for an enlightening discussion led by Professor Robert Moses Shapiro of Brooklyn College exploring the resilience and humanity of nearly 200,000 Jews who lived in the Lodz Ghetto during the Holocaust.

Through fragile yet enduring messages in clandestine diaries, poetry, songs, humor, drawings, and photographs, we will uncover the remarkable ways the Jews of Lodz sought to preserve their humanity in the face of unimaginable evil. The event will also explore artifacts like clothing, toys, greeting cards, and baskets, which stand as testaments to their creativity and resilience.

Let us come together to remember, reflect, and honor the lives lived in the Lodz Ghetto.

This event is free but a contribution is welcomed to strengthen our Yiddish program.
